Publisher Description
Safesnap - Protect your privacy, encrypt photos on the fly.
Ever needed to take a picture of something confidential, private, intimate or embarrassing, but didn't want others to see it without your permission? For such occasions we've made Safesnap!
Sometimes devices tend to fall into the wrong hands (i.e. they get lost or stolen) or they might be shared by family members or friends, and sometimes such devices may hold files & pictures you'd rather not want others to see without your permission. We've developed an app exactly for such occasions - just start the app, input your preferred password and take a picture. That's it! It's all secured, encrypted and hidden from prying eyes, hackers and thieves.
Safesnap allows the user to capture, view, delete, encrypt, decrypt, import & share photos. Each password corresponds to a different gallery, so you may choose to always use just a single password or multiple keys to categorize your data and optimize security level.

————— FAQ —————
Q: How can I tell if a photo is encrypted?
A: If the photo thumbnail in gallery view doesn't have white lock icon at the bottom right corner - it's encrypted, otherwise it's not encrypted.
Q: How can I access settings?
A: Method 1: Swipe left (←) on the Safesnap main (login) screen. Method 2: Enter any gallery by logging in with any password and press (≡) on the top right corner. A pop-up menu will appear with the option "Settings".
Q: I'm entering the right password, but all my pictures are gone. Where are they?
A: Check in "Settings" if you or someone else hasn't changed encryption salt recently, if not - search for them manually with a third party file browser or assume that they are forever lost.
Q: How can I select a picture?
A: Method 1: Long press on a picture in gallery view. Method 2: Press (≡) on the top right corner in gallery view. A pop-up menu will appear with the option "Select".
Q: I've forgotten the randomly generated salt. Can the encrypted pictures be recovered?
A: No.
Q: Why are some pictures missing after I capture them?
A: If "Auto-encryption" is turned on, it may take a while for the pictures to be saved and encrypted after capturing. Wait roughly 15 seconds, press (≡) on the top right corner in gallery view, then a pop-up menu will appear with the option "Refresh", select it. Now your pictures should be available for viewing.
Q: Can I import pictures from other location on my device to Safesnap?
A: Yes, since version 1.1.2. Press (≡) on the top right corner in gallery view. A pop-up menu will appear with the option "Import files", press it and then a file browser will appear which will allow you to navigate and pick files for importing. It is also possible to import images from other galleries and browsers using share button.
———— WARNING! ————
Random symbol string (aka salt) will be generated on your initial launch. Memorize, write down or change it (via Settings), otherwise if this key is lost, all the data encrypted using this salt will be inaccessible.
We're not responsible for forgotten passwords and salts, broken encryption, data loss or corruption due to any software or hardware malfunction. Use Safesnap at your own peril.
Beware - hardware systems that use HDD's are more prone to data leakage, because it takes several overwrite cycles to erase previously saved data completely.
